Harvest at Dawn: A Grenache Blanc Story from Lodi AVA

Grenache Blanc Lodi Story

A Careful Harvest Journey

For this wine, we sourced our grapes from Fields Family Vineyard in Lodi, a producer we have trusted and worked with in the past. That existing relationship gave us confidence in both the quality of the fruit and the care taken in the vineyard.

Lodi’s warm days and cool evenings create ideal conditions for Grenache Blanc, allowing the grapes to develop ripe flavors while maintaining natural freshness and balance. Timing and handling are critical in preserving the integrity of white grapes. To preserve fruit quality, the grapes were harvested and transported from Lodi to Santa Rosa early in the morning, before the heat of the day affected their freshness. This attention to detail ensures that what arrives at the winery reflects the vineyard at its best, clean, vibrant, and full of potential.

Once at the winery, the grapes were gently processed and aged in French oak barrels. This approach adds texture and subtle complexity while allowing the natural character of Grenache Blanc to shine through. The result is a wine that balances freshness with depth, offering a refined expression of this unique varietal.

At Candia Cellars, we are proud to bring together fruit from respected vineyards like Fields Family Vineyard and craft wines that tell a story of place, care, and vision. This Grenache Blanc represents more than a single vintage. It reflects the value of long-term relationships, thoughtful sourcing, and intentional winemaking decisions.

This California Grenache Blanc offers a clean, expressive profile that reflects both the Lodi terroir and the craftsmanship of Candia Cellars.
