Our Story
Candia Cellars began from a journey shaped by movement, resilience, and a desire to build something lasting, inspiring confidence in our perseverance.
Patty left home at a young age and learned early what it means to start over. As the years passed, she moved across countries and cultures, navigating new challenges that demanded adaptability, patience, and grit. Throughout these changes, wine became a constant: not just as a product, but as a language. It connected people, told stories of places, and reminded her that the best things are often built slowly. Her journey is driven by a passion for authentic wine and a desire to share stories through every bottle she produces.
After years of learning, observing, and waiting for the right time, Candia Cellars was established in 2025, driven by the belief that meaningful wines are crafted slowly and with purpose. As a small, boutique winery now approaching its second harvest, Candia Cellars emphasizes thoughtful sourcing, hands-on winemaking, and limited production that reflect care at every step. Each decision, from vineyard partnerships to barrel selection to cellar work, was guided by respect for the fruit, the workers, and the people who will eventually open the bottle, fostering admiration for our craftsmanship.
The story behind our logo
At the heart of Candia Cellars is its emblem: two beautiful roses. These roses represent the unconditional love my grandmother taught me, inner strength, patience, and generosity that continue to guide how I live and how I create. That love is the foundation of this business, influencing every choice and reminding me that what we build with care and intention endures. This boutique winery represents more than a business. It is the realization of a long-held dream: to create something honest, sustainable, and personal.
Candia Cellars exists to make wines that feel genuine; wines that invite connection, conversation, and a sense of place while laying the foundation for a future built on integrity, craftsmanship, and growth over time. We are still early in our story, and that is exactly the point. Every bottle is part of that story, and every harvest is a step closer to the winery Candia Cellars is meant to become.
Cheers!
Patty Candia
My Journey
The Dream Begins
In 2019, Patricia Candia boldly pursued her dream of becoming a winemaker, earning acceptance into UC Davis's prestigious winemaking certification program.
Certified Winemaker
Patricia graduates from UC Davis with a Winemaking Certification. Wins her first medal from the Winemaker Magazine International competition for her Cabernet Sauvignon from Livermore, CA.
Candia Cellars is Born
By this time, Patricia had as many as 11 medals from winemaking competitions. The momentum from her early successes leads Patricia to take a leap of faith in 2025, launching Candia Cellars, a boutique, female-founded wine business in Sonoma County dedicated to high-quality and small-lot wines.
Second Harvest
As Candia Cellars approaches its second harvest, her wine portfolio continues to grow steadily while building a lasting legacy, each vintage guided by intention, precision, and love for winemaking.
Every bottle is crafted with intention, honoring quality, sustainability, and the art of winemaking.
Our Wines
Currently, we are focusing on varietals that thrive in Sonoma County and surrounding regions, including Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. We also sourced grapes from the Lodi AVA, including Petit Verdot and Grenache Blanc, to support the local vineyards that have supported us in previous years.
Small production allows us to give each vintage the care it deserves, from vine to bottle, ensuring distinctive wines with character, depth, and elegance.
Our Vision
Candia Cellars is more than a wine brand; it’s a vision in progress. We are building a direct-to-consumer platform, a wine club membership, and a brand that represents passion, perseverance, and creativity. Each bottle you enjoy supports the growth of a small, independent business and the realization of a dream.
